Terry Labonte Luncheon and Awards

On June 8th 2015 this race car was delivered to Terry Labonte Chevrolet. This is the 1996 “IRONMAN” car that Terry Labonte raced. On April 14th 1996 in North Wilkesboro, NC three major accomplishments happened. In this car Terry Labonte started from the pole position, won the race, and tied Richard Petty’s record of 513 consecutive starts. The next week at Martinsville Speedway he took the record for himself with 514 consecutive starts. He then went on to race 655 straight Winston Cup races. This 1996 “IRONMAN” car made its final appearance on October 27th, 1996 in Phoenix.

On June 10th, 2015 Terry Labonte Chevrolet hosted a surprise luncheon for Terry Labonte. Terry is a 2016 Nascar Hall of Fame inductee. We had many special guests attend this event including: Terry Labonte, Tim Payne, Bob Glaser, Kevin Smith, and Gary Dehart. Tim Payne is the wounded veteran who received our specially modified Silverado pickup truck last year from Governor McRory. Bob Glaser is the President of North Carolina Auto Dealers. Kevin Smith is the Chevrolet area Manager. Gary Dehart is the crew chief for Terry Labonte. Gary has been with Hendrick Motorsports for many years. He was even apart of the 1996 Championship year. A few of these special guests presented awards. Bob Glaser presented Terry Labonte with an appreciation award. Kevin Smith presented the 2014 Chevrolet Mark of Excellence Award to Terry Labonte Chevrolet. This award is given to dealers who are in the top 10% of the country in customer satisfaction index, sales, and community service. After the awards and the luncheon were finished Terry Labonte signed autographs, took photos, and did a few interviews. It was a great day at Terry Labonte Chevrolet!

.

We were excited to play and sponsor this event. We sponsored multiple holes throughout the course and had the opportunity to give way some great prizes. The par 3 7th hole, players had the chance to win a 2015 Chevy SS if they shot a hole-in-one. There were a few players got close but unfortunately we still took the Chevy SS back with us. The player who did get the closest within their group didn’t leave empty handed, that person left with an autographed hat by the Hall of Famer, Terry Labonte.

Thank you to all the players and sponsors in this event and we can’t wait until next year.
We would like to thank every active and retired military and armed forces for their services.
